I.E.  Can you become unsaved once / after you have been saved ? / Can salvation be lost ?

1./   CEASATIONS -

INTRODUCTION -

Psalm 34:7-16;

7 The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

8 O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

9 O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.

10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.

11 Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord.

12 What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?

13 Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.

14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

15 The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.

16 The face of the Lord is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

A./   CEASE TO DO EVIL

Proverbs 3:7;
Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.

Psalm 37:8;
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.

Isaiah 1:16;
Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;

Isaiah 56:1-3;

1 Thus saith the Lord, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.

2 Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.

Proverbs 23:4;
Labour not to be rich: cease from thine own wisdom.

Isaiah 2:22;
Cease ye from man, whose breath is in his nostrils: for wherein is he to be accounted of ?

Proverbs 3:5;
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Job 36:10;
He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.

2 Timothy 2:19;
Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

B./   FAST FROM SIN
Isaiah 58

King James Version (KJV)

1 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.

2 Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.

3 Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours.

4 Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high.

5 Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the Lord?

6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

7 Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?

8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy reward.

9 Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;

10 And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day:

11 And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

12 And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.

13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the Lord, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:

14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the Lord; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

     i./   INTRODUCTION -

Romans 6:1-2;

1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

    I./   WHAT GOD WANTS FROM US -

a./   GODLY SEED

Malachi 2:15;
And did not he make one? Yet had he the residue of the spirit. And wherefore one? That he might seek a godly seed.

        b./   SIN NOT

Exodus 20:20;
And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.

Psalm 4:4;
Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

Psalm 39:1;
I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.

Ezekiel 3:21;
Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.

1 Corinthians 15:34;
Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

Ephesians 4:26;
Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

1 John 2:1;
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

        b(1)./   IS, SINLESSNESS POSSIBLE -OR- IMPOSSIBLE ?

According to scripture, as it is written..............IMPOSSIBLE..........

Luke 17:1;
Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!

Ecclesiastes 7:20;
For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not
.

no, not one

Psalm 14:3;
They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Psalm 53:3;
Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Romans 3:9-12;

9 What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;

10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Romans 11:32;
For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

Thus, the necessity of and for, FORGIVENESS............

1 John 2:1;
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

1 John 1:9;
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

        b(1)./(a)  HOWEVER, MINDSET MATTERS / DETERMINES ALOT OF THINGS !!!

1 John 2:1;
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not.

Romans 6:1;
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin,....God forbid.

2./   KNOW YE NOT THAT.............
Romans 6:16;
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

A./   We, even as believers / Christians, can yield to either man (natural, old or new).

the  (natural, old man) is of the flesh;

the (new man) is of the spirit.

B./   We know both - flesh and spirit / sin and righteousness

good and evil / life and death

Genesis 3:22;
And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil:...

Deuteronomy 11:16-28;

16 Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;

17 And then the Lord's wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the Lord giveth you.

18 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.

19 And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

20 And thou shalt write them upon the door posts of thine house, and upon thy gates:

21 That your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which the Lord sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of heaven upon the earth.

22 For if ye shall diligently keep all these commandments which I command you, to do them, to love the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, and to cleave unto him;

23 Then will the Lord drive out all these nations from before you, and ye shall possess greater nations and mightier than yourselves.

24 Every place whereon the soles of your feet shall tread shall be yours: from the wilderness and Lebanon, from the river, the river Euphrates, even unto the uttermost sea shall your coast be.

25 There shall no man be able to stand before you: for the Lord your God shall lay the fear of you and the dread of you upon all the land that ye shall tread upon, as he hath said unto you.

26 Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;

27 A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you this day:

28 And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.

Deuteronomy 30:19-20;

19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

20 That thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

WHICH THEN YOU CHOOSE DECIDES YOUR ULTIMATE FATE AND DESTINY !!!

3./   DOES THIS STRUGGLE MEAN THE PERSON IS NOT SAVED / LOST ? no, not at all...

A./   Recidivism and backsliding -   ( the act of a person repeating an undesirable behavior after they have either experienced negative consequences of that behavior, or have been treated or trained to extinguish that behavior and to avoid, discipline / correct such behaviors... ) and suffering for it , is,

    i./   necessary; and, instructive;

Luke 17:1;
Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come!

Job 8:11;
Can the rush grow up without mire? can the flag grow without water?

Jeremiah 2:19;
Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.

Hebrews 5:14;
But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

1 Corinthians 11:19;
For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.

                  Just as it takes the law, to bring to light sin [ Romans 7:7;  ] similiarly,
         ii./a   IT TAKES SIN TO BE SAVED i.e. it is sin that necessitates Salvation; and from which we are saved....  i.e.

How is / was Salvation reckoned ? ANS. it is / was reckoned while in sin. Therefore, Salvation necessitates the existence of sin ( since it exists anyway ) .

So also, Perfection, growth, overcoming, victory, becoming (righteous, perfect, holy, godly) presupposes the existence of that (sin) which requires these things (perfection, growth, overcoming, victory, becoming... ) in the 1st place; which, again, necessitates the existence of sin
( esp. since it exists anyway ) .  Romans 7:21; I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.

    iii./   You can make mistakes / become deceived, confused, misinformed, used, abused, etcc... and fall back / fall away; and, miss the mark of the high calling: backsliding again into sin - howver, you can always return and re-dedicate your life and self back to God, and, be received again unto Himself.   [ Ezekiel 3:16-21; 18; Ezekiel 33:1-20; are the rules !!! ]

1 Timothy 1:13;
Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

1 John 1:9;
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

It is when one opts not to return that the person is caught up in/by and taken with reprobation and perdition. i.e. persons and entities of sin ordained to this such condemnation ! i.e.

Matthew 7:15;
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

2 Corinthians 11:12-15;
12 But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we.
13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Galatians 2:4;
And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:

2 Peter 2:1;
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

Jude 1:4;
For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 11:19;
For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.

    iii./continued....   You can make mistakes / become deceived, confused, misinformed, used, abused, etcc... and fall back / fall away; and, miss the mark of the high calling: backsliding again into sin - however, you can always return and re-dedicate your life and self back to God, and, be received again unto Himself.  [ Ezekiel are the rules !!! ]

    iii./a        the only exceptions I know of to this rule are -

Matthew 12:31;
Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

Hebrews 6:3-5;
For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

Not that these are unsaved, just that they will never be able to enjoy God's blessings ever again while they remain here on Earth.

THERE ARE TWO OTHER CATEGORIES TO CONSIDER HERE ALSO -

*THE UNFAITHFUL STEWARD

Luke 12:42-48;
 42 And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?
43 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
44 Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.
45 But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;
46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
47 And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.

**THOSE WHO'SE NAMES MAT BE BLOTTED OUT OF THE LAMB'S BOOK OF LIFE

Revelation 3:5;
He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

WHICH, PRESUPPOSES/INSINUATES THAT IT CAN BE.....

these last two are said about those who originally were stewards ( in the 1st case ) and ( whose names were at 1st written in ) meaning predestined, and called; believed and were saved.

So, unless you fit into either of these two categories, your pretty much a given to be saved.

    iii./a    The essential question considered / contemplated herein is as follows.....

Can you become unsaved once / after you have been saved ? / Can salvation be lost ?

The only verse that I know of that says that ( yes, you can ) is -  Revelation 3:5;
He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

which indicates that your name can become blotted out for some cause.

BETTER OFF TO BE SAFE & SOUND & SURE RATHER THAN ETERNALLY DAMNED.

4./   IS, SINLESSNESS IMPOSSIBLE ?

Like most things in this world / life, the answer to this question depends upon how you approach, see or look at it; i.e. depends upon ones aspect, perspective or point of view.

A./   If your point of reference is -

Luke 18:27;
And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

then, what man cannot do, God can do for him !

Thus,     Luke 1:37;  For with God nothing shall be impossible.

and, then, in this context, this next verse takes on it's true and correct meaning -

Matthew 17:20;
And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

Likewise, similarly, re: the questions of sinlessness....

THE EMPHASIS IS NOT ON THE QUESTION'S LOGIC ITSELF PER SE AS MUCH AS IT IS IN SEEKING TO UNDERSTAND THE UNDERSTANDING OF....

HOW CAN ONE BE / BECOME / BE FOUND / SEEN AS SINLESS ?

i.e. substantiation, not distinctions.

e.g.

B./   Paul taught.....   Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

Romans 7:14-20;

14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. 15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. 16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. 17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. 19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. 20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

Romans 7:21;

I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.

C./   Peter taught......  he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin

1 Peter 4:1;
Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;...

So that if you suffer when you realized sin in your life - then, accordingly, as it is written, such suffering signifies a ceasation.

D./   Accordingly, scripture(s) recognizes several classes / categories of types -

natural man, old man, new man, new creature, son of perdition, etcc.....

NOW WHAT THIS MEANS IS AS FOLLOWS.......

    i./   THE REGENERATED / CONVERT / BELIEVER / SAVED has been excised and extracted from out of  the old man ( sin nature ) and re-housed into the Spirit  - i.e. translated into the kingdom of God's dear son.

Colossians 1:13;
Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:...

Eph 1:3; Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

Eph 2:6; And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

Luke 17:21;
Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

                                                                          The i complex

    ii./   This transformation is a process of excelling and falling; works of righteousness and downfall, backsliding into works of the flesh and of sin; then returning, restoring the pledge and re-dedication: then, recidivism. A cycle that repeats over and over and over and over.....until, the time appointed. Galatians 4:2; But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.

    iii./   Beginning with " in the Spirit " the understanding is understood in the following depiction, as follows.....

                          " IN THE SPIRIT " ILLUSTRATED
NOTE:   One need not exactly discover, identify, name and exactly place and depict the things themselves exactly as they really are; nor their features, functions, dynamics, machinations, mechanics, nor processes: (no one could anyway ). However, translating the verses into exacting ideographic illustrations is possible: &
on the basis hereof we are given an understanding of whole things. God knows the things themselves exactly as they are ! notwithstanding, if I say [ W = wisdom ] then I have correctly and exactly represented it so. And, just because I cannot exactly show wisdom's exact place and visage does not mean I cannot speak intelligently about it. Thus, if I place [W] inside a picture of the head; then, I have rendered it reasonably so. Thus, we can depict it and speak about it coherently ( even if not exactingly exact.). We know things near enough to do so coherently: it is enough to know and understand that things are; ( and reasonably, where they are ) and what they do ( even if we cannot perfectly show how, nor why ).Therefore, so it is hereby with these ideographic depictions.
Matthew 11:19;
The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.
Luke 7:34-36;
Proverbs 8:12;
I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.
Ephesians 5:13;
...for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
END NOTE

      iv./   USING THE ILLUSTRATIONS -

Paul taught as follows.......
ONE:/   Romans 7:25;
I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

Paul, herein and hereby drawing a clear distinction and making an obvious separation between
[ I, myself ] and [ with the flesh ] as two separate and distinct things.
Sin, sins; not I.
THUS, 4./ A./ and B./ above are understood.

Romans 7:17;
Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

Romans 7:20;
Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

Romans 8:9;
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.

1.)   [if] I am no longer in the flesh [yet sin can sin via the flesh] then, [if] the flesh carries out/conducts sin's sin......[then] again [it is not I that doth it;] but sin that is responsible for it and the cause of it: not i. and, since it is irrefutably, unequivocally clear and certain that  Romans 7:17; Romans7:20; clearly states this fact [ as 1 John 3:6; and 5:18; closely concludes likewise ] then, it is up to us now to further understand it more closely and clearly: i.e. to perfect the understanding hereof and substantiate our findings.

2.)   However, [if] [I] seeing this sin occurring, does nothing to intercept and correct the problem of it i.e. allows for it [knowing to do good and does not do so i.e. abstain, refrain, cease, forsake, or, at least seek to and try to] then, it is sin. i.e. [if] [I] yield to it and allow for it to continue on unabated, unintercepted, unaddressed, uncorrected] i.e. [if] [I] build again that I once destroyed [then] [I, not sin] make myself a transgressor.

HEREIN IS THE HARMONY AMONG ALL THESE THINGS.

THE DIFFERENCE LAY WITHIN THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN....

THIS [ and when lust has conceived it bringeth forth sin] and, THIS [and sin, when it is finished i.e. has gone on so long, long enough unchecked, uncorrected ] [THEN] it bringeth forth death.

James 4:17;
Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

Romans 14:22;
... Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.

Galatians 2:18;
For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.

3.)   However, [if] a person sins ignorantly, unwittingly, unbeknowingly, inadvertently, verdantly, [then] there is forgiveness for their part and leniency (notwithstanding consequences)....

1 Timothy 1:13;
Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

Luke 12:48;
But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes.

Hosea 4:6;
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

2 Peter 3:16;
As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

4.)   And, [if] the individual / person is informed, yet continues beyond just the 2nd admonition - there is self subversion; and, they are to be rejected.

Titus 3:9-11;

9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.

10 A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;

11 Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.

Hebrews 6:8;
But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

Therefore, it is written,

Ephesians 5:10-12;

10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.

Romans 16:17;
Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

1 Corinthians 5:9-11;

9 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:

10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.

11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

2 Corinthians 6:13-15;

14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?

16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

2 Thessalonians 3:6;
Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.

1 Timothy 6:3-5;

3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

2 Timothy 3:1-5;

1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

2 John 1:10;
If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:

Titus 1:16;
They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

NOTWITHSTANDING ALL OF THE ABOVE,

5.)   Mercy is the rule......

Matthew 9:13;
But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Matthew 12:7;
But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.

Jude 1:20-25;

20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,

21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:

23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

25 To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

1 John 5:16;
If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

6.)   There is forgiveness, none-the-less in all these cases.

1 John 1:9;
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

cf. 3./   DOES THIS STRUGGLE MEAN THE PERSON IS NOT SAVED / LOST ? no, not at all...
esp. 3./ A./ iii./ continued...

E./   DEAD TO SIN -

Romans 6:1-3;

6 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin,
live any longer therein?

Romans 7:6;
But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.

    i./   [if] I am " dead to sin " [yet sin can sin via the flesh] then, [if] the flesh carries out/conducts sin's sin......[then] again [it is not I that doth it;] but sin that is responsible for it and the cause of it: not i. and, since it is irrefutably, unequivocally clear and certain that  Romans 6:2; clearly states this fact [ then, here again, I am free of sin ] . i.e.

Romans 8:2;
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

NOW THEN, BOTH SINLESSNESS AND DEATHLESSNESS ARE BROUGHT TO LIGHT !!!

    ii./   The understanding of these things is as follows............

NOTE:/   This is the MYSTERY OF PREVENIENT DEATH AND OF THE DIVINE SUPERNATURAL LIFE IN THE SPIRIT !!!

It is by far the most metaphysical and profound mystery among the mysteries of God !!!!

ONE:/   there is a spirit in man

Job 32:8;
But there is a spirit in man:....

1.)   THE ORIGIN OF WHICH IS......

Job 4:18;
Behold, he put no trust in his servants; and his angels he charged with folly:

Psalm 104:4;
Who maketh his angels spirits;

Psalm 104:30;
Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.

Ecclesiastes 12:7;
Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Zechariah 12:1;
The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel,
saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.

Psalm 139:14-16;

14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

Isaiah 42:5;
Thus saith God the LORD, he that created the heavens, and stretched them out; he that spread forth the earth, and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:

2.)   When the Word of God says......
Job 32:8;
But there is a spirit in man:....

I, spirit, = me, myself and who I am per se.  fig. # 1
intermingled with the flesh i.e. [in the flesh]
Romans 8:8;
So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

3.)   When Paul says....[I]
in,
Romans 7:19-20;
19 For the good that [I] would [I] do not: but the evil which [I] would not, that I do. 20 Now if [I] do that [I] would not, it is no more [I] that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

..[I].........refers to - I, in the spirit

Romans 8:9;
But ye are not [in the flesh], but [in the Spirit], if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

   A.)   The thing to notice and to be observed herein and hereby is that............

      i.)   man, not in the Spirit, his spirit is inter-mingled within the flesh [the natural man], the carnal nature, the old man of sin, and with the law of sin. cf. fig. # 1 above

Romans 7:5;
For when we were [in the flesh], the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit unto death.

Ephesians 2:1;
...dead in trespasses and sins;

Ephesians 4:22;
....the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;...

1 Corinthians 15:42;
...It is sown in corruption;... i.e.

Psalm 51:5;
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.

      i.)   man, who is in the Spirit, his spirit is not inter-mingled within the flesh [the natural man, the carnal nature, the old man of sin, and with the law of sin]  i.e. has been translated into the kingdom of God's dear son; i.e. is no longer [in the flesh] but [in the Spirit].

i.e. is free of the law of sin
Romans 8:2;
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me [free from the law of sin] and death.

[which is in the flesh]Romans 7:23;
But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of [sin which is in my members.]

and......
not only so, but also............

TWO:/   THE BODY IS DEAD BECAUSE OF SIN !!!

Romans 8:10;
And if Christ be in you, [the body is dead because of sin;] but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

i.e.

1.)   I am crucified with Christ

Ga 2:20;
[I am crucified with Christ:] nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

   A.)   Very literally speaking also.

2 Corinthians 5:14;
For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, [then were all dead:]

i.e.

   B.)   We were all crucified that day at Calvary ! Very literally speaking !

i.e.

      i.)   Just as - [his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree,]

1 Peter 2:24;
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

      ii.)   and, just as - [he by the grace of God should taste death for every man]

Hebrews 2:9;
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

Colossians 2:14;
      iii.)   Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, [nailing it to his cross;]...

      iv)   Just as all these were [taken up in unto Himself]  [nailing it to his cross;] so also,

      v)   We were very literally taken up in unto Himself and nailed to that very same tree there that day at Calvary.

2.)   Thus, it is written..... [ " ye are dead " ]

Colossians 3:3;
For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

3.)   AND, NOT ONLY SO, BUT, IN AN INSTANT, JUST AS CHRIST WAS QUICKENED IN THE SPIRIT [INSTANTLY UPON THE DEATH OF HIS BODY]

1 Peter 3:18;
For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

1 Peter 3:18-20;

so also was every person there that day; as we ourselves were also - all the back to Adam - and all the way forward to the very last person ever to be born.

Ephesians 2:5;
Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ,

Colossians 2:13;
And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he [quickened together with him,] having forgiven you all trespasses;

   A.)   Now, if we were [quickened together with him,] there that day [if not, then when ?] therefore were we not there then all dead ?

2 Corinthians 5:14;
For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, [then were all dead:]

   B.)   There can be no doubt about the fact that very supernatural things happened there that day !!! it is obvious and certain !!!

Matthew 27:50-54;

50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.

51 And, behold, [the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom;] and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

52 [And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,

53 And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.]

54 Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God.

like, e.g.

            i.)   the Spirit of life entering in unto those long dead in their graves and being brought back to life entirely whole and well and alive - immediately after Christ's body gave up the ghost and was there then instantly quickened by the Spirit of life !!!  Which, there then also came upon the dead in their graves also !!!! why ?

because they too were judged in Christ, forgiven, quickened in Christ there then just as He had been, and raised unto newness of life !

for it is / was written........

1Co 15:22;  For as in Adam all die, even so [in Christ] shall all be made alive.

Romans 8:11;
But [if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you,] [he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.]

it is this translation into the kingdom of God's dear son that begets and is sinlessness !

it is this quickening of our mortal flesh that begets and is deathlessness !!!

            ii.)   and, such [deathlessness] Jesus Himself taught !!!

John 5:24
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

John 8:51;
Verily, verily, I say unto you, If a man keep my saying, he shall never see death.

John 11:26;
And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

as did also His beloved....
1 John 3:14;
We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.

THREE:/   {| [with Christ] [ in Christ] |}   [in God]  [in the Spirit]

[in me]

Ga 2:20;
[I am crucified with Christ:] [nevertheless I live; yet not I,] but [Christ liveth [in me:] and [the life which I now live] in the flesh [I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.]

!!! [not I,] but [Christ liveth] [in me:] !!!

[Christ liveth] [in me:] !!!

[not I,]

Colossians 3:3;
[For ye are dead,] and your life is hid with Christ in God.

[nevertheless I live;]

BECAUSEOF [THE QUICKENING OF YOUR MORTAL BODIES] BY HIS SPIRIT THAT IS IN YOU !!!

and [the life which I now live] in the flesh [I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.]

Philippians 2:13;
   A.)   For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Hebrews 12:25;
See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:

Hebrews 12:24-26;

Jeremiah 29:11;
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

John 6:45;
It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

1 John 2:19-27;

19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

20 But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.

22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.

25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.

27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

2 Corinthians 3:3;
Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.
[ as it is written....Ezekiel 11:19;
And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:...]

            i.)   Which is, The Holy Ghost
           Hebrews 10:15-17;

15 Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,

16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.

Hebrews 8:9-11;

9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:

11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.

AND,

    B.)   our sufficiency is of God

Philippians 2:13;
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Romans 9:16;
So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

2 Corinthians 3:5;
Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;...

as it is written................

John 3:27;
John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.

John 15:5;
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

[TAUGHT BY GODPhillipians 2-13]

5./   THIS THEN IS THE CONCLUSION OF EVERYTHING HERE-TO-FORE of 15. HOW ? 3rd

Romans 8:9;
But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.

And, once therein, I think your pretty much safe and sound from all of these other natural considerations !!!

Romans 8:37-39;

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

And, once therein, I think that other more spiritual things and rules apply to you. e.g.
sinlessness
deathlessness
redemption of the body
glorification
translation !!!
etcc...
